Navigating College while Homeless

In the latest collection of homeless student data, the Department of Education reported a shocking 1.29 million public school students living in homelessness, over 300 thousand of those in high school. Navigating higher education is difficult enough for fully-supported students, but homeless college students face unique and sometimes impossible challenges in their quest for higher education. For these students, college is a crucial step in securing their futures.

In order to aid in this fight, our team has put together a guide to navigating college while homeless, which includes resources to help students:

  • secure basic needs like housing and meal plan options year-round
  • navigate the FAFSA and financial aid
  • make the most of the educational resources offered by their universities
